Hey friend, as I was fasting earlier this year, the Lord kept placing this scripture on my heart:
If the baby is a boy, kill him; if it is a girl, let her live. Exodus 1: 16
I asked the Lord “why focus on this scripture?” He said women need encouragement to send up prayers for husbands, future husbands, and all the men in their lives who will eventually become someone else’s husband one day.
“Kill the boys” is the mandate that was given straight from satan to Pharoh in an attempt to rid the Israelites of male leadership and to make sure God’s chosen deliverer would not live to save His people. He knew that the males represented a threat to his kingdom. The 1st time satan used this mandate to attempt to kill Moses by having him thrown into the Nile River, and the 2nd time it was issued to Pontius Pilate to kill Jesus. That was thousands of years ago.
But, believe it or not, Satan is still carrying out this mandate today, except he now uses:
- Pornography
- Gangs
- Prison
- Drugs
- Alcohol
- Homosexuality
- Feminism
And so many other traps to kill, steal, and destroy men so that they never walk in their true calling.
Satan’s mandate has separated fathers from their children; eroded trust between men and women; and diminished male confidence, making men feel emasculated or not good enough to take the lead.
This is the primary reason why:
A lot of churches are practically run by women. If men show up on Sunday, they aren’t active or participating is any form of ministry.
A large percentage of African American children live in single parent homes.
Men don’t pursue women the old-fashioned way anymore. They’re tired of fighting, scared to commit, and confused about what their role is in your life. Oh yeah, they’re fine with labeling you “for recreational use only,” but that’s not what you’re here for, right? You want a real man with backbone to stand up and be counted. You deserve commitment. You desire to be more than just a toy!
Prayers for Husbands and Future Husbands
In spite of all of that, I thank God that He also has a mandate. Whether you like it or not, His will is and always has been for men to lead families (Ephesians 5:23) and for couples to pass Godly principles on to the next generation so that His will be done continuously on earth as it is in heaven (Malachi 2:15). In Genesis, God says that it is not good for man to be alone, therefore he created Eve, and called her ezer kenegdo or a suitable, complementary helper to help him carry the vision that God implanted in him.
However, if Adam had been out of place, missing in action, or preferring to be non-committal when Eve came along, imagine what would have happened to all of creation? What would have happened to God’s plan for him to be fruitful and multiply????
I can picture Adam walking in circles and refusing to stop and ask God for direction, because he can “figure it out himself,” while working tirelessly, day and night, to maintain the garden to an impressive fault, but realizing it’s all for nothing because he has no one to share it with. And although the animals may bring him temporary amusement and companionship, they’re not compatible to Adam. They’re not on his level. They’re not Eve. Kinda like how some modern men choose to label all women for temporary “recreational use only” because it’s easier than finding one suitable, companion who’s on their level. Make it make sense.
In this season, God’s mandate is for women to pray for the men and boys in their lives: your (future) husband, sons, brothers, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and co-workers need prayer! It doesn’t matter how young or old they are. The enemy put a target on their back the day they were conceived. Trust me when I say, they are under attack. The enemy knows that when you cut the head off the body, the entire body dies. The traditional family is dying because the enemy is cutting the head off.
But because the midwives feared God, they refused to obey the king’s orders. They allowed the boys to live, too. Exodus 1:17
In the Hebrew text, the word mid means “with” and wife means “woman.” A midwife is someone who stands with women to support them throughout the process of childbirth.
In Exodus 1:17, we see that the midwives saved Moses. These women played an integral role in the continuation of family lines.
Will you join me in becoming a midwife?
God is asking that we save the lives of our men and boys by sending up prayers for husbands and future husbands. If you’ve ever said, “all the good men are taken,” this initiative is what you need. If you’ve ever said, “my husband, brother, or co-worker is clueless,” I need you to pray with me.
At some point, we have to stop complaining and start doing something.
If you know a man who is not walking in his full potential – maybe he’s good when he could be great; maybe he needs a father figure to step up and show him what manhood looks like; perhaps he lacks the confidence to lead – whatever the situation is, we need to pray.
Stand with women to support them in praying for the men in their lives as we stand with you to pray for your loved ones. MidWifery is not limited to single or married women; it’s not even limited to women. It’s for anyone who believes in the power of prayer!!!! It’s for anyone who recognizes that there is an attack on the head.
But there is a bonus is found in Exodus 1: 20 – 21.
So God was good to the midwives, and the Israelites continued to multiply, growing more and more powerful. 21 And because the midwives feared God, He gave them families of their own. Exodus 1:20 – 21 NLT
Yes, you read that right.
Because the midwives supported other women in keeping their boys alive, God gave them their own families. Single ladies, you can’t beat that with two sticks! Even if you’re married and already have a family, God will pour out blessings on your family because of your willingness to stand with other women.
Shall we pray?
